Conduct a high-contact communication schedule with 250 students and maintain correspondence with over 1,200 students. Develop student relationships from high school to undergraduate admissions. Prepare participants for online and on-campus art courses. Conduct daily first-contact tours for all prospective new Academy students that accurately portray 18 departments and a diverse array of student services.

Gallagher Benefit Services Sales and Marketing Intern

Trained in a 9-week internship at an insurance brokerage firm, assisted consultants with insurance and human resources support for mid-sized companies. Managed 3 client projects: coordinated carrier quotes for a small group renewal, organized a career fair with 12 vendors for a human resources director and presented progress at a strategy meeting, and produced wellness newsletters in MS Publisher for release to 2 school districts. Created an office-wide public speaking program modeled on a sister office, led an internal wellness session to promote healthy lifestyles for 15 employee from 2 divisions of Gallagher.

Accomplishments: Ranked 2nd place in a group case study presentation and received a letter of commendation from President Jim Durkin. Finalist on the Arthur J. Gallagher national intern video challenge. Presented a business model and strategy plan to branch Area President and supervisors.

Scripps College Outdoor Orientation Program Co-coordinator

Designed a 5-day orientation camping program for 80 Scripps College students in collaboration with my co-coordinator. Recommended and achieved a 23% staff increase, worked closely with Human Resources and Payroll to hire 2 professional staff members, interviewed and hired 12 student volunteers. Created a week-long wilderness and leadership training, engaged 3 campus departments to conduct training sessions, hired a company to conduct Wilderness First Aid certification training for 16 leaders. Negotiated a contract for a local YMCA camp facility that fit program budget constraints, coordinated transportation to campsite and for a day trip for 80 people.

Organized 4 counselor schedules and appointments serving an 800-student body university, crafted social media publicity. Sought and received a promotion from Student Assistant to Career Consultant. Coached students one-on-one on resume and cover letter preparation, job search tools, and networking strategies. Compiled a report on student traffic used to re-distribute staff to accommodate peak traffic hours. Provided weekly feedback to the professional staff on student programming. Planned an information sessions about careers in academics that connected 4 alumnae panelists and with 12 students, created publicity for this event that doubled attendance from a similar event.
