Kim dedicates her time to building a more engaged and welcoming technical community on campus. She co-founded the Semiannual 5C Hackathon at the Claremont Colleges and serves as chair of the Claremont Colleges ACM-W chapter, through which she works closely with the Pomona and Harvey Mudd CS departments in supporting women in CS.

Prototyped and built a data latency and data quality tool for monitoring services across Xbox LIVE. Researched system infrastructure to evaluate tradeoffs between performance and data granularity.

Applied image processing principles to evaluate color reproduction in cell phone cameras. Authored library of Matlab scripts to calibrate and assess RGB to CIE XYZ color transforms.

Implemented and tested a new feature for the Google Wallet peer-to-peer payments release. Developed and applied knowledge of dependency injection, GWT MVP, and unit testing.
